Avondale House Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy discloses the general privacy practices of Avondale House and its dealings with donor information, including but not limited to names, addresses, phone numbers, and email addresses, both online and offline.

How we use your information

Avondale House does not trade, sell, or share donor information, nor does it send donor mailings on behalf of other organizations. We use personal information about you to improve our marketing efforts and content offerings. We may also use your personal information, such as your e-mail address, phone number, or mailing address, to contact you regarding the work and impact of Avondale House.

We have today, and will in the future have, arrangements with third party service providers, such as credit card processors and mailing vendors. In order to provide some services, we may be required to share information with that provider in order to provide the service. These third-party providers are not permitted to retain or use personal information for any purpose unrelated to providing the service.

We reserve the right to disclose personal information when needed to comply with the law or a legal process, cooperate with investigations of purported unlawful activities, to identify persons violating the law, or in connection with the sale of part or all of Avondale House's or its affiliate's stock or assets.

Children's Privacy
In accordance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998, we will never knowingly request or solicit personally identifiable information from anyone under the age of 13 without verifiable parental consent. In the event that we receive actual knowledge that we have collected such personal information without the requisite and verifiable parental consent, we will delete that information from our database as quickly as is practical.

The site provides links to other websites for the purpose of providing information and resources to our readers. Avondale House is not responsible for the privacy practices or content of such other websites, and we encourage visitors to review their policies prior to providing any personal information.

Use of Text and Images

All logos and other images on this site are the sole property of Avondale House.

Use of Cookies

This site utilizes “session” cookies to identify a particular visit to the website. The session cookies assist in enhancing the user experience and obtain visitor activities while on the site.  These cookies expire when the visitor closes the web browser. Visitors may choose to set their web browser to not accept cookies or to receive an alert when cookies are being sent. 

Google Analytics

Avondale House tracks visitor traffic patterns using Google Analytics.  While Google Analytics collects information anonymously, it reports website trends without identifying individual visitors.  Avondale House uses this analytic tool for purposes of improving the website experience for our visitors.

Opting-Out
You may choose to opt-out of sharing personal information in several ways. If you receive communications from us that you prefer not to receive, you may opt out from receiving these communications, either by specifically indicating this preference in a communication to us or by selecting an opt-out option. You may also choose to have your name removed from our database by contacting mwiseley@avondalehouse.org.

Effective Date and Changes
This Privacy Policy was effective as of July 1, 2018 and has been updated as of January 28, 2021.   Avondale House reserves the right to modify the terms of this policy at any time and in our sole discretion, by posting a change notice to this page. By continuing to support or engage with Avondale House after those changes become effective, you agree to be bound by the revised Privacy Policy.
