Many companies sponsor matching gift programs, which are designed to match charitable contributions made by their employees. Companies often match gifts made by employees, spouses, retirees, and widows/widowers. We will send you and the company receipts for tax purposes. This is a great opportunity for you to support Avondale House and possibly double or even triple the amount of your gift!
Providing a Lasting Legacy – Planned Giving
If you are like many of our supporters, you hold Avondale House close to your heart and want to keep supporting our mission to provide children and young adults with autism the education and training to develop to their fullest potential far into the future. But what if, because of life’s ups and downs, you don’t know how much you can afford to part with today? You can help shape the future of those we serve by planning a gift to Avondale House after your lifetime. Bequests are the most popular type of planned gifts. Simple bequest language could include: “I give the sum of $____________ in cash [or “I give _______% of the residue of my estate] to Avondale House, located in Houston, Texas, for its charitable purposes.” This type of gift is perfect for individuals who would like to support our agency but need the flexibility to change their minds at any time and keep their current assets intact.Have you included Avondale House in your will?
Special Gifts – Stock, Life Insurance, and Retirement Plan Assets
Gifts of stock are always welcome. Stock that has increased in value is one of the most popular assets used for charitable giving. Making a gift of securities to us offers you a chance to help our organization while realizing many important tax benefits for yourself.Contributions of life insurance can provide a substantial gift to Avondale House. Consider donating a paid-up policy that is no longer needed to provide for your heirs or changing you policy’s beneficiary to support our work. A life insurance gift may allow you to support us more generously than you thought possible while providing you with significant income and estate tax benefits. You can enable Avondale to carry out its mission far into the future by making a gift of your retirement plan assets. Coordinating retirement planning and charitable giving can be especially beneficial if you have accumulated substantial retirement assets and wish to reduce income and estate taxes. Please consider designating us as the beneficiary of all or a portion of your IRA, 401(k), 403(b), Keogh plan, or other retirement plans. For all of these special gifts, please consult your financial advisor, tax specialist, or estate-planning attorney to maximize benefits to both you and Avondale House.
We would love to have you participate in, and financially support, any of the fundraising events that our agency hosts each year. Those events range from our elegant annual luncheon to a festive Halloween Boo-lathon, among others.
