CEO Welcome

Thank you for visiting the Avondale House website. For those of you who may be looking for a bed and breakfast or historic home, I encourage you to return to your favorite search engine and try again. For those of you looking for premier resources and services for individuals with autism, I invite you to tour our website to learn more about us.

Avondale House is a United Way agency that provides education services, a day habilitation program, and residential services for individuals diagnosed with autism. Founded in 1976 by parents of children with autism, the program was originally located on Avondale Street.

Today, the organization is housed in a state-of-the-art, spacious 33,000 square foot facility specifically designed to address the unique sensory, educational, and developmental needs of those we serve.  We provide an array of autism-specific services to individuals pre-K and older, regardless of where they fall on the autism spectrum. We are one of the premier service providers in the state, with a staff of 60 plus individuals, who collectively represent over 360 years of service to our agency, our students, and their families.

After more than 25 years at Avondale House, I remain committed to our mission of providing children and young adults with autism the education and training to develop to their fullest potential. If you know someone who might benefit from our services, please encourage them to contact us.

Sincerely yours,

Barbara Boyett
